Using HalalScan

HalalScan helps users interpret product labels, barcode data, and ingredient information for halal verification decisions.

The service is designed for decision support. It does not replace halal certification bodies, religious authorities, manufacturer statements, or your own review of the product label.

Halal decisions

Halal, haram, and needs-review labels depend on available product data, ingredient sources, regional labeling rules, and the preferences you choose in the product.

A needs-review decision means more context may be required before deciding whether a product is permissible for your situation.

Your responsibility

• Check the physical product label before buying or consuming a product.
• Use certification marks and manufacturer information when available.
• Treat needs-review results as prompts for further verification.
• Keep account, location, and preference information accurate where supported.

Accounts, saved scans, and access

Some features may require an account, subscription, or supported device permissions. Saved scans, scan history, and personalization features may depend on authentication and service availability.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account.

Product data and availability

Product data may come from public databases, third-party sources, user submissions, or manufacturer information. We work to make decisions useful, but product data can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.

We may update classifications, ingredient rules, product data, and features as the service improves.

Acceptable use

• Do not misuse the scanner, APIs, or product database.
• Do not attempt to bypass limits, security controls, or subscription access.
• Do not submit false, misleading, infringing, or harmful product information.
• Do not reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or redistribute the service without permission.

Payments and subscriptions

If paid plans are offered, billing terms, renewal timing, trial availability, cancellation, and refund rules will be shown before purchase.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply.

No warranties

HalalScan is provided as available. We do not guarantee that every product decision, ingredient source, barcode match, or product record will be complete, current, or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for decisions made solely in reliance on product data shown in the service.
